Memories

March 22, 2011

We are on the campus of Freed-Hardeman today finalizing some information for the New Zealand trip.  I won't say any more, I will let Daniel tell you all about it!  :)

It's amazing how things in life change over time, and how some things do not change.  As we were driving to Henderson early this morning, we were not shocked at the amount of construction being done or not done.  The state of Tennessee has been working on the strip of Hwy 64 between Winchester and Selmer for about oh 60 years.  Ok, Ok, not that long, but I do remember has a child a lot of construction on these roads.  Anyways, we were also puzzled has to why they changed a two lane narrow road into a four lane highway with a median and decided to keep the speed limit at 55 MPH!  Really Tennessee?  Really?

Continuing on the change of life, we rolled into FHU on two wheels just in time for Chapel.  If you have never experienced a FHU Chapel service before, you are truly missing out!  I am glad to say that has not changed.  Daniel and I continued walking around campus looking at all of the renovations that have been completed over the past few years and visualizing about "Our Time at FHU."  Even though the overall look of the Commons has changed, the couple sitting at the table trying not to look like they are fighting, the couple beside Hall Roland and the Library kissing, the Lion painted in vibrant colors honoring those Brave Social Club Members who broke curfew to display the loyalty to the club, the smell of lunch from Gano (or Wallace-Gano for you new folks) none of which has changed.  It was nice being back on campus, even though it made me have a bad case of Home Sickness!  Not my home in Alabama, but my home that use to be in Henderson!  Ahhhh Memories

March 24, 2011

So I hoped to post the above back on Tuesday; however, between the vomiting baby, sick momma, and studying daddy we didn't.  Plain and Simple.  :)  Ok, to explain a bit... Matthew has been vomiting up a bottle at least once a day.  The Doctor says it is normal.  I don't think he minds it as much as the rest of us do.

Matthew had his first visit to Granny Clark's this past Sunday, a whole week early!  Thank you Granny!  :)  If there is one thing about a large family that I am thankful for, it is this... Learning at an early age the basics of caring for a baby.  For example, feeding him.... Here is a picture of my Cousin's little girl feeding Matthew

What a big help!

**First Night Away from Mommy and Daddy**
So mommy and daddy had to go to Henderson this past Tuesday, and as a result Matthew got to stay the night with Aunt Chelle and Uncle Chris.  Mom and Dad may be new parents, but they are not complete idiots!  They both realized that trying to wake up and get themselves ready along with Matthew, drive to Aunt Chelle's and be on the road by 7am is almost as easy as World Peace!  So, Matthew got the opportunity to stay with his aunt and uncle.  He did well with the exception of a little Colic.  His Aunt Chelle was a little sleep-deprived by the end of the visit, but still hasn't given up the opportunity to watch him again.  Brave, Brave Woman!  :)

**Mommy Update!!**

So I was told by my loving husband that I did not do a "Mommy Update" during the last blog.  Or if I did, I didn't do a good enough job; either way, I need to do one! So here it is in list form keeping with the "Mommy Theme" :)

1) Mommy is now back to her P.P.W. (Pre-Pregnancy Weight)  YAY MOMMY!  Only 40lbs to get to the D.W. (Desired Weight)
2) Mommy's lupus is doing good.  They are stair-stepping her down on the steroids, and she can tell a difference!  :(
3) Mommy's stomach is finally healed from her minor set-back.
4)  Mommy can't seem to get anything accomplished as a result of staring at this little man!
5) Mommy officially misses Football Season!  Daniel turned on the Arkansas vs Georgia game playing on the ESPN Classic channel.  *Sigh* It would be better if they played Alabama.  But oh well.
6) Mommy can drive again!
7) Mommy has sent all applications in, and are now just waiting on replys from Calhoun
8) Mommy and daddy can't think of anything else because her life consists of Changing Diapers, Cleaning up puke, Giving Baths, Doing Laundry, Sleeping, Feeding a little man, and hoping to goodness she remembers to eat!

Oh and Multi-tasking Extraordinaire!
"Holding Matthew Asleep" (Since he doesn't like to be rocked) while Proofreading Daniel's Paper.  :)

......................Until Next time......................
