Anticipation

So this is pretty much how I feel at 38 Weeks.  "Any day now Matthew... Any Day"

In preparation for Matthew's BIG arrival, Daniel has been working extra extra hard on his school work!  He is taking Family Ministry (how appropriate right?) and Expository Preaching this semester and has a total of 5 BIG projects/papers due this semester.  He is working extremely hard to get all of them finished before Matthew's big day.  He has finished 2 of the projects and has a third one about 80% completed!  Now we now realistically he probably won't finish all of them before next Tuesday, but he will be extremely close!  On the other projects he has, all of the research is finished.  So those are just a matter of sitting down and actually writing the papers and/or sermons.

Daniel is excited about next week, not only for the fact of Matthew arriving, but family that is coming into town.  Daniel's dad is coming in for the week to be here for the birth of Matthew and to help us out!  It has been since January since we have seen him, and miss him dearly!  Don't fret RBI guys, there will be a game played or two!  lol

Since we have moved back to Alabama, Daniel and I have been trying to find a church home.  My church home was Meridianville COC before we got married.  So to be fair, I agreed to visit other congregations since I am after all partial to M'Ville.  Anyways, Daniel placed his membership with Meridianville this past Sunday, I just renewed mine.  I have always loved Meridianville for the open arms and friendly faces.  I have been gone from that congregation for two years, and when we started going back it was like we never left.  Daniel said in the short couple of visits he had with the congregation it felt like he had attended there since he was a little boy.

Well until next time everyone!

Well it's official.... Daniel and I are full Alabama Residents.... After a long day hopping from one office to the other, we are Alabama Residents.  Now we just play the waiting game for the licenses and other cards to come in the mail.

We are in the home stretch of this pregnancy.  In about 10 days, our little bundle of joy will be here.  Daniel and I are excited beyond belief.  Yesterday while running one of our many errands, an employer at our local bank and I were talking about pregnancy and the "Final Countdown."  She asked me how I have been sleeping at night and I told her one night I can sleep amazing, but the next I will wake up every two hours.  She said that she has an 8 month old little girl, and she went through the same ordeal that I am experiencing.  She said it must be our body's way of preparing for the every 2-4 hour feedings.  I am glad I wasn't the only one thinks this.  Well hopefully in about 10-14 years I will get back to a "normal" sleeping pattern.  Hopefully.  :)

Why no Facebook?  Some of you may be asking.

First, I find my time being spent more on Facebook than anything else.  I get so focus on it, that when I realize I have lost 1 or 2 hours to reading status messages, playing games, I feel horrible and disappointed in myself.  So, how is blogging any different than Facebooking?  Simple.  I am able to log onto the blog, type my thoughts and ideas, and sign off.  I am not tempted to search through friends' status messages, or play games, etc.  There seems to be a lot of drama on Facebook, "Do I add this person? Do I not?", "Why did this person want to add me?", "I cannot believe what this person said on their status."  Yes blogging can be classified as an extended version of a status message; however, it's our blog.  Meaning:  we type in the blog, and whoever wants to read it can read it; we are not tempted to read others' stuff.

Second, with the arrival of our little Matthew in a week and a half, we will be super busy between keeping up with him, Daniel's school work, and me studying for many entrance exams.  Entrance exams?  Yep, I said it.  I am applying to start the Nursing program at Calhoun and the Surgical Tech Program at Calhoun.  Hopefully I will get into one of them, and be able to work in the medical field once again.  I worked for a surgeon's office in Huntsville for the longest time, and my favorite part was being a Medical Assistant.  It was interesting to sit in on procedures, interact with the patients, helping patients with post-operative care, etc.  But the most intriguing part of the position, was discovering what the human body is capable of doing.  AMAZING!  Anyways, I have a couple of entrance exams that I will be studying for along with finding a new job.  :)

So I will leave you with that.... :)

Follow up on Hospital Visit

Yes we went to the Hospital the other night!  It was an adventure, as it always is!  :)  I went because I was entirely sick to my stomach!  YUCK!  (Don't worry I won't go into grave details, just know it was more than the average "stomach virus").

Little to my surprise, when we arrived and they hooked me up to the machine I was contracting!  WOW!  At 36 Weeks and 5 days, I was contracting!  Not just any contractions but major ones!  The nurse told me that I was having contractions every 30-60 secs each lasting about 4-5 minutes.  It was interesting to see the "strange feelings" in my belly were actually contractions and not just a little active boy in my belly moving around.

Anyways, they gave me some medicine to slow down the contractions.  Matthew would have been born if it wasn't for the fact I did not start dilating.  :/  I have a follow-up appointment on Feb 15 with my OB, so we will see what happens!  :)

Baby Matthew! Hmmm

So it's 3:35am on Feb 13, Daniel is asleep on a pull out bed, and I'm sitting here amazed that all those headaches, punches and turns I have been feeling this past week is actually Labor contractions!!! Hmmmm who Knew. Daniel brought me to the hospital tonight because I was throwing up severly. So, once we got here and they drew blood, urine etc they said I am having true labor contractions!! How exciting?! Anyways, here is a picture of the contractions. :)

Dan's Thoughts

Well, today I tried NFL training camp on the Wii, since we went out and bought it from Wal-Mart. I gotta say it is a great workout and brings back the good ole days of High School Football. I would completely recommend this to anyone who is trying to lose weight or get in shape.

Also, I have started school again for the Spring semester, and it is going good so far. I only have 5 major assignments and with the baby on the way it is good to have a couple easy classes. I am going to try and get these assignments done before Matthew comes.

Well that is it for now.

In Him,

Dan

About Us

Hey everyone! This blog is set up for our friends and family. I hope you enjoy it!

We met at Freed-Hardeman University where we both were members of Chi Beta Chi. We became the best of friends. After Angel moved away they kept in touch, and grew even closer! Daniel proposed to Angel after his graduation ceremony from Freed-Hardeman University December 2008.
In order for us to grow closer to one another, we must grow closer to Christ. Our relationship, as all other things, is in His hands.
We were married on May 23, 2009 at Meridianville COC in Meridianville, Alabama.   We shortly moved to Arkansas where Angel worked at the Jonesboro Human Development Center and Daniel worked at Peach Orchid Church of Christ.  Daniel is finishing his Masters in Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University, and Angel is working on her Nursing degree from Calhoun Community College.  We moved to Alabama in November of 2010.

We found out in July 2010 that we will be expecting our first child March 2011.  Matthew Todd is scheduled to arrive on March 1st.

We do not want anything more in this world than to be parents.  Matthew is a blessing.  :)
